The Vibe In only two months the snow will be falling and we will be basking in Utah powder! Just yesterday my friend Jenna and I were admiring (drooling over?) all the 2008 gear in Powder Magazine. Is it too early for that? Absolutely not!
W@W Partner Updates
The Canyons Resort That’s right! All W@W students get a pass to the Canyons. The resort has 3,500 acres of skiable terrain, 3,190 vertical, easy access to the backcountry, and a fantastic terrain park! Check it out at www.thecanyons.com.
Alta Ski Area Alta is going electronic! No more scrambling through jackets to find your lift ticket. This season Alta will replace paper tickets with an Alta Card and gated entrances with antennas at the base of each lift. Some more exciting news is Sugarloaf lift is on its way to becoming completely Green! With this change, another 11% of Alta’s energy consumption will be covered by renewable energy. Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort
Snowbird has added more snowmaking machines in the Peruvian Gulch for even better coverage from the Peruvian Express to the bottom! Also new to this season is a Big Mountain Camp for extreme skiers and snowboarders with Dean Cummings. Get more info at www.snowbird.com.
W@W Video Contest
Last year’s W@W students combined amazing ski, snowboard, and video skills to create some fantastic clips. Prizes were donated by our sponsors: Dyanstar, Backcountry.com, and Spyhop Productions. The contest will be going strong for the ’08 semester! Check out all four videos on You Tube.
