October, 2014 Workshop in Salt Lake City, Utah

  • The winter ECS professional development workshop will be held at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 11th.
  • This will be a single-day workshop, it will run from 8:30 - 5:00.
  • Location:
    • 8:30 AM HOWA - Located in the Shaw student center (the cafeteria), follow the signs.
    • 9:00 AM HWAC 354 (the same room as the summer workshops).
  • Things to know:
    • Breakfast and lunch will be served.
    • The conference room will be open at 8 if you need time to collaborate with your group before the workshop.
    • Bring curriculum binder.

Things to know

We are excited for you to attend the ECS Workshop at Westminster College this winter. There are some things to keep in mind before you attend the workshop:

  1. Please familiarize yourselves with the Scratch program.
  2. If you are driving more than 50 miles to attend the workshop, you will be reimbursed for mileage. Please bring a print out of Google Maps, showing the distance from your home to Westminster College. Westminster College's address is: 1840 South 1300 East, Salt Lake City, UT 84105.
  3. If you have a laptop or a tablet, please feel free to bring it. There will be times throughout the day that it will be needed. If you do not have a laptop, there will be access to a laptop.

Parking and Directions

Westminster College is located at 1840 South 1300 East, Salt Lake City, UT 84105.

Here are directions to the workshop at Westminster College:

  • The workshop will be held in room 354 of the Eccles Health, Wellness and Athletic Center (HWAC) at Westminster College.
  • From I-80 take exit 126 for 1300 East. Drive north on 1300 East until you turn left on 1700 south. Turn left onto 1200 East.
  • Continue straight on 1200 East past the stop sign and you will reach the Dumke Parking Structure.
  • From the parking lot, follow the sidewalk forward. As you approach the commons, the building on your left will be the Shaw Student Center. You can enter this facility from the East doors. The conference room is in the Southwest corner of the building.
