These carvings of knights in stone were grave monuments. They show what earlier armor looked like -- simple, angular and probably rusty.

      By the 14-15th centuries, when knights wore beautiful, shining armor, they hardly needed it in battle (because of the Long-Bow) but adorned themselves to look good at tournaments. It is interesting how these wealthy warrior-types were so slow to adapt to the new technologies and customs of the Later Middle Ages, but were passed by in the Coming -- to them, the Modern -- Age.
