The '67 War

      This war pitted Israel against the three states it conquered territory from (Egypt, Syria, Jordan) as well as a few other Muslim states.  A pre-emptive strike by Israel against Egypt's air force began the war -- a controversial start.

      The results of this war linger, especially for the Palestinians. The results (esp after 1973) also showcase the possibilities for peace, as Egypt and Jordan have shown.

       This war greatly increased Israel's confidence & prestige. An event here of enormous results on many sides, we begin with H300 'in media res'.

       The map shows the main geographical outlines of the war. As we move forward with the PBS film on the war, look at all resources at hand as well over the next couple classes in order that we might create a class webpage that outlines the war (causes, course, results), the main people and events involved, the various interpretations and the significances of the Six Days' War, aka, the '67 War.  You might especially keep your eyes open in sources other than the film in order to locate and contribute what the film leaves out.... or mis-interprets....
