LOWER CITY CREEK NATURE TRAIL

HOW TO GET THERE

The only road into City Creek Canyon is at 11th Avenue and B Street where the road becomes Bonneville Drive, a one-way road that loops across the mouth of City Creek and descends back to Salt Lake City downtown along the east side of the State Capitol Building.

The lower City Creek Nature Trail entrance can be found approximately 100 yards above the entry gate to City Creek Canyon. Currently it does not have an entry sign but it is marked by large logs on both sides of the trail. The trail crosses the creek on a small wooden bridge and proceeds along the east side of the creek for one quarter mile and dead ends. An upper trail cuts off midway and loops back toward the pond parking area below the gatekeeper's house and crosses Bonneville Boulevard heading toward the Memory Grove area.

The trail was created several years ago by Salt Lake City Water Department personnel, Eagle Scouts, and other volunteers. Many of the plants and animals described here can be seen along this short trail. Please come and use it.
