Terrestrial Invertebrates of City Creek Canyon
You may not notice them at first: small, drab and quiet, they don't grab your attention like a deer munching grass in a meadow, or a cougar stalking a deer in a mountainside or a bird flying from tree to tree. But they are there under the leaves, under stones and fallen logs on the ground. Buzzing in the air. Can you see them now? E.O. Wilson, the great conservation ecologist, has called insects "the little things that run the world." The Bug Table below is an introduction to a small sample of creatures you may encounter in
City Creek Canyon Natural Area.
