Terrestrial Invertebrates
of City Creek Canyon
You may not notice
them at first: small, drab and quiet, they don't grab your attention
like a deer munching grass in a meadow, or a cougar stalking a deer
in a mountainside or a bird flying from tree to tree. But they are
there under the leaves, under stones and fallen logs on the ground.
Buzzing in the air. Can you see them now? E.O. Wilson, the great conservation
ecologist, has called insects "the little things that run the
