The canyon is 12 miles long, comprising 19.2 square miles of drainage area. The

flows have subtle reactions to climatic conditions due to the canyon's width and

relatively low elevation. As air temperature increases from the winter months, around

March to May, the flow reachs its peak. Flows decrease through July and august,

Because of the nearly constant sun exposure to the snow pack on the gentle rising hills,

there is only a moderate flow fluctuation. The average annual yield for the creek is

11,749 acre-feet, the fourth largest in the plan area.
